How To Set Up Delonghi Air Conditioner

Custom Window Bracket for the DeLonghi PInguino Ac

Hullo anybody, this is a quick DIY post on how I completed a window installation for my DeLonghi Pinguino portable air conditioner. The Ac unit came with a window bracket that was, unfortunately, non compatible with the windows in my home.

Fortunately, I had the tools and supplies to whip upwards a DIY culling.

Tools and Supplies

Here's what I needed for the projection:

Jigsaw
Miter saw (or circular saw)
Drill with a drill bit a smidgen big than your jigsaw blade
1×12 lath (cut to the width of my window)
Insulation foam

Optional supplies could include paints and finishes. (I skipped this step. Considering 1. Lazy and 2. This is a temporary setup.)

How to Install

First matter you'll need to do is measure the width of where you want to install the window subclass.

I made a cut at the exact dimensions but struggled inserting into the frame of the window. I had to improvise a piddling but going back to the miter saw and cut one edge with a 15 degree bevel.

Next trace the outline of the wall flange with cap onto the one×12 board. Exist mindful of where it will be positioned one time you lot install the board in the window.

Drill pilot holes for the jigsaw and cut out the shape of the pigsty.

(As far every bit jigsaw blades become, I highly recommend the Bosch T101AO3 blades. I started off with a blade that was too thick for the curves and swapped out to the T101AO3 blade. You can come across the departure in my control in the photograph below.)

Insert the flange into the hole. Information technology should exist a nice snug fit.

My Air conditioning unit came with some insulation foam. I applied that to the sides of my 1×12 board and inserted it into the window.

All that's left is to shut the window and install the frazzle hose.

Portable Air-conditioning Window Installation

This was a quick easy solution to my incompatible window bracket.

Initial impressions of the DeLonghi Pinguino: two thumbs upward! My HVAC finally bit the bullet and died the start week of the year to hit 90+ degrees. This unit of measurement has done well cooling down my downstairs area (large open floor plan) and should hopefully hold us over until nosotros replace our HVAC unit.
